Here’s a summary of some of my favorite photos I’ve shot while out chasing the atmospheric conditions of the great plains. I’m relatively new, but I have put a lot of time and focus into the basics of the dynamics associated with severe/tornadic weather. Do I still have a lot to learn? Of course. The pursuit of these storms can consist of long lonely drives followed by extreme excitement or disappointment. The great plains can be extremely peaceful and breathtaking hopefully, I can convey a small percentage of what it is like through this blog.

  1. Andy, These pictures are spectacular… we have been looking and trying to decide how best to express the wondrous dark power of these tornadoes. What is so beautiful is how you show the yellow, warm light toward the bottom of the storm while capturing the tremendous and formidable all-powerful storm… Breathtaking!
